About the Garden:
Asherah's Garden & Nursery is a 6 acre, regenerative, native plant nursery in North Salem, NY. By focusing on native plants we are building a future for human and non-human life alike.
About the Steward:
My name is Max Sechzer and I am the caretaker of Asherah's Garden & Nursery. I am a first generation immigrant, farmer, forager, and basketmaker. I am passionate about helping others create relationships and community with the plant world.

Find me at events all over Westchester, Putnam, and Fairfield counties. If a farm near you doesn't have me on their calendar, ask them to reach out.
North Salem Farmers Market
I will be with DIG Farm on the second Saturday of each month at Croton Falls Station.
Youth Classes
As part of Wild Roots, a collaboration of foragers, farmers, herbalists, and chefs, I am teaching classes for folks ages 10-18. Classes are starting in April. An initiative of DIG Farm, learn more at www.digfarm.org
Group & Private Tuition
I am offering a public group class once a month covering various styles and plants. To sign up check out the wild basketry page. These classes focus on a particular weaving technique and are grounded in the season. Students learn about plant ID, sustainable harvesting, material processing, storage, and weaving techniques.
I offer this and more as private sessions. Contact me directly via the form on this site for more info. Examples include one on one instruction on any of the above as well as garden structures, advanced basketry techniques, gifts, planting and growing basketry plants, etc.
